An author and nutritionist named Lottie was so focused on her New York Marathon run that she did not notice American TV personality Dylan Efron jogging alongside her for much of the race. She only realised her luck after the moment was shared on social media.
A Surprise Running Companion
In an Instagram post on her 'runningonveggies' page, which has 75,800 followers, Lottie joked: "When you're so locked in, you don't realise you're running next to Dylan Efron the whole race."
Dylan reshared the clip from the marathon, which took place on Sunday (November 1), admitting he was "so spooked" when the confetti cannon came out. Lottie captioned her post: "The Celebs are just like us," and revealed she finished the race around the 3 hour 22 minutes mark, while Dylan completed it in under 3.5 hours.
Who Is Dylan Efron?
Dylan, the younger brother of actor Zac Efron, is an American television personality and production coordinator. The 34-year-old has worked on films including Ready Player One, The Accountant, Live by Night and American Sniper.
He also served as a producer of Down to Earth with Zac Efron, a travel documentary starring his brother. Since 2019, Efron has featured in Off the Grid, a series on his brother's YouTube channel following the pair on outdoor activities and trips without electronic devices.
Recent Appearances
In 2025, he appeared as a contestant on Peacock's third season of The Traitors, where he won as a Faithful with Lord Ivar Mountbatten, Dolores Catania and Gabby Windey. That year, he was also announced as a competitor on season 34 of ABC's Dancing with the Stars, partnering with Daniella Karagach and placing fourth in the finale.
This year, he starred in the music video of "Wish I Didn't" by country singer Megan Moroney. In the comments on Lottie's post, one person wrote: "He probably thought all the cheers were for him, but they were in fact for LOTTIE!"
