A man at Donald Trump's rally in Marietta, Georgia, was caught on camera mimicking the US president's mannerisms throughout his 74-minute speech at Wheeler High School. The attendee scrunched his mouth into an O-shape, waved his hands and wobbled his head, mirroring Trump's gestures.
Impersonation caught on camera
As Trump described the war with Iran as a 'skirmish' and boasted about employment rates, the suited man continued his impersonation. He turned to two people sitting next to him, who burst out laughing while looking at their phones. After the speech, he danced like Trump.
Clips of the impersonations went viral on social media, though some users said they could not see the joker. The man was visible in some broadcasts but not all, depending on camera angles. Footage was captured by the Conservative news channel Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSBN) and the White House.
Identity unclear
Who the man is or his intentions are unknown. The White House has been approached for comment. The incident recalls the 'plaid shirt guy' from a 2018 Montana rally, whose skeptical expressions became a meme. That man, then-high school student Tyler Linfest, later said his reactions were genuine.
Trump has previously described his speaking style as 'weaving,' saying he talks about nine different things that come back together. During the rally, he claimed 'communists' were trying to 'blow up Mount Rushmore' and that there was 'transgender for everybody.' He also referred to the Strait of Hormuz as 'Hormuz Street' and compared Senator Jon Ossoff to 'Pinky Herman,' apparently fumbling the name Pee-wee Herman.
