MAFS Star Erin Bateman Breaks Silence on Split from Bryce Mohr
Erin Bateman, who rose to fame on season two of Married At First Sight, has finally spoken out about her separation from fellow TV groom Bryce Mohr. The 36-year-old former reality star confirmed the split in a candid TikTok video posted on Wednesday, ending years of speculation about their relationship status.
The Emotional Revelation
In her emotional video, Bateman described the breakup as the 'worst breakup' she had ever experienced, revealing it was so traumatic that she struggled to watch MAFS for several years afterward. 'Put a finger down if you were on a reality TV show 10 years ago that led to the worst breakup of your adult life, so bad that you almost didn't survive it,' she began, detailing how each new season of the show brought back painful memories.
Bateman explained that watching the program made her feel 'worse and worse and worse because it reminded you of the breakup that nearly killed you.' She added that she hasn't posted any photos of Mohr on her social media accounts since 2019, though she noted in her video caption that she has since 'healed' from the experience.
Background of the Relationship
The couple were matched on MAFS in 2016 and became one of the longest-surviving pairs from the television experiment. Despite their public beginning, they maintained a notably private relationship away from the spotlight. Daily Mail reported in 2024 that the pair had gone their separate ways and were leading independent lives.
Interestingly, this wasn't their first separation. In 2018, Bateman and Mohr confirmed they had broken up briefly before reconciling. 'It hasn't been a 100 per cent smooth-sailing journey, but we're definitely still together,' Bateman told NW magazine at the time, with Mohr adding, 'We have on and offs just like anybody else [but] at the end of the day we are still together.'

In August 2023, he shared a photo with another woman while exploring a local market, further fueling speculation about their separation.
Despite public curiosity about their relationship status over the years, Bateman previously stated she didn't believe they 'owed people an explanation after two years.' She acknowledged that after finishing their season of Married At First Sight, they 'still didn't know each other,' which led them to take their relationship slowly and privately.
