Married At First Sight Australia stars Duncan James and Evelyn Ellis have officially confirmed they are in a relationship, following weeks of speculation. The couple announced the news in a recent interview, answering questions from the show's Honesty Box.
When asked directly if they were in a relationship, Duncan replied, “Yes, I am. Well, yes, we are.” Evelyn added, “This is Evelyn and Duncan's hard launch. It feels good to finally just say it, and it feels kind of exhilarating in a weird, freeing way.”
The pair first sparked dating rumours after being spotted dancing together on a night out, with reports of a series of dates. Duncan explained how their romance developed: “We started hanging out a little bit after the show. Everyone's sort of friends in the cast, and obviously me and [Evelyn] living in Sydney we probably hung out a little bit more. All of a sudden we went out on a couple of nights, and some of the warm fuzzy feelings happened in my stomach.”
Evelyn revealed that their co-stars have been supportive, including her ex Rupert Bugden, who has given the pair his blessing. It remains unclear whether Duncan's ex Alyssa Barmonde has been equally supportive. The couple's confirmation comes after the explosive series ten reunion, and they are one of only two couples from the original twelve still together.
