Married At First Sight Australia star Bec Zacharia has said her 'life is crumbling' after her Instagram account was deleted following a dispute with a bridal rental company. The 35-year-old Adelaide socialite claims the removal of her main profile has left her without her 'only form of income'.
The controversy began when Savannah, owner of the bridal rental company RESRVD, accused Bec of failing to properly credit her business in Instagram posts. Bec had tagged the company on a less popular 'burner' account instead of her main page, despite agreeing to promote the brand in exchange for clothing loans for the show's final vows.
Savannah expressed disappointment, stating that small businesses rely on promised exposure from reality TV participants. Bec, however, insists it was an 'honest mistake' and that she believed Savannah was satisfied after receiving a positive comment on her post. She told Daily Mail Australia: 'I thought what I had done was satisfactory.'
Since the accusations went viral, Bec has faced significant online abuse and had her account removed due to mass reporting. She said: 'This is my only form of income, and that has now been taken away from me. All of the deals that I’ve got going on rely on me having my Instagram.'
Bec, who was dumped at Final Vows, said she is 'new to this' and learning how to navigate influencer partnerships. She added: 'I’m not an influencer. I’m just a normal girl. I wish there had been communication where she could have told me her grievances.'
Savannah has stood by her claims, noting that communication before the event was via Bec's main account, making the use of a burner account deliberate. Bec continues to plead for her account to be restored, saying the abuse has not stopped and her life has 'crumbled'.
