Madonna made a surprise appearance during Sabrina Carpenter's headlining set at Coachella on Friday night, performing 'Vogue,' 'Like a Prayer' and a new duet. The pop icon emerged midway through Carpenter's song 'Juno' and joined her for the classics.
Madonna addressed the crowd, noting it was 20 years since her first Coachella performance in 2006 when she played in the dance tent. She described the return as a 'full circle moment' and spoke about music's power to bring people together.
The appearance coincides with the announcement of Madonna's upcoming album 'Confessions II,' her first full-length album in seven years. She premiered the song 'I Feel So Free' on iHeartRadio earlier on Friday and released it officially shortly after the performance.
Carpenter's set also marked her first headlining slot at the festival, following a promise she made during her 2024 appearance. Her 'Short 'n Sweet' tour concluded in Los Angeles just a week before she was named Variety's Hitmaker of the Year.
