Madonna delighted fans with a surprise appearance at Coachella on Friday night, joining headliner Sabrina Carpenter on stage. The Queen of Pop, 67, performed a duet with Carpenter, including her hits Vogue and Like a Prayer, as well as a track from her upcoming album, Confessions II, scheduled for release on July 3.
Dressed in purple lingerie, Madonna told the crowd: 'Twenty years ago today, I performed at Coachella... so you can imagine what a thrill it is for me to be back 20 years later... it's like a full circle moment.' Her original set in 2005 marked the first US performance of songs from her album Confessions on a Dance Floor.
The new album is a continuation of that record, with Madonna collaborating again with producer Stuart Price. She described the dance floor as 'a ritualistic space' where 'movement replaces language,' adding: 'To rave is an art... it's about pushing your limits and connecting to a community of like-minded people.'
Beyond music, Madonna is set to appear in Seth Rogen's upcoming series The Studio and was recently spotted filming in Italy with Julia Garner, who was reportedly cast to play the star in a biopic that has since been shelved. Her last tour, the Celebration Tour, grossed more than $225 million across 81 shows between 2023 and 2024.
