World number one Luke Littler will front a new Netflix show where everyday darts players compete against him for a chance to win £501,000. The live event, titled Beat Luke Littler, will allow anyone to enter, with 20 participants selected to face the 19-year-old prodigy.
If an amateur defeats Littler, they will take home the half-a-million-pound prize. Open regional heats will be held in London and Manchester in September for those wanting a shot at beating the darts star.
How to Apply
The call-out for participants was led by Littler in a video message where he reads social media claims from people saying they could beat him. Looking at the camera, he says: “Reckon you could beat me in a game of darts? Let’s go.”
Anyone aged 12 and over can apply, but those under 18 attending open auditions must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Aspiring contestants can visit beatlukelittler.com for more information. The application form asks how long they have been playing darts and why they think they could beat Littler.
The show will air live on Netflix on Friday, October 30.
Littler's Recent Triumphs
The announcement comes after Littler defeated Gerwyn Price 18-9 to retain his Betfred World Matchplay title in Blackpool on Sunday. He set a new final record with an average of 111.53, lifting his tournament average to 111.04 and surpassing Phil Taylor's previous high of 106.31. Littler hit 12 180s in the final, reaching 66 for the week and breaking his own competition record for maximums.
The win keeps Littler on course for a clean sweep of trophies this year, having already won the World Championship, UK Open, Premier League, and the Masters. He began playing darts at 18 months old and reached the PDC World Championship final at age 16, losing to Luke Humphries. His breakout year came in 2024 when he won the Premier League and Grand Slam of Darts. He became the youngest world number one at the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship in January 2025 at just 17 years old.
When his MBE was announced in June 2025, Littler said: “This is an amazing and unexpected honour but one which I am very grateful for. To receive a recognition like this is something I had never thought would be possible and it is a proud moment. It’s unbelievable what I’ve done for my sport. I’m happy, my family is happy and I can’t wait to receive it.”
