Ludwig creator Mark Brotherhood has shared details about new cast members joining David Mitchell in the upcoming second series of the BBC crime drama. While David Mitchell returns as John 'Ludwig' Taylor, viewers will also see Line of Duty actor Mark Bonnar as a newspaper editor and Fleabag's Sian Clifford as a politician. Ben Ashenden joins as DC Ethan Cole and Rumi Sutton as DC Caitlin Sullivan.
New characters unaware of twin impostor
Although many on the force now know that John is impersonating his missing twin brother, Brotherhood said the new additions are none the wiser. He commented: "The mystery remains. His brother is still missing. Lucy still needs his help, and he's still actively looking for him without telling the police."
Third series already commissioned
Although series two will air later this year, fans have good news as the programme has already been commissioned for a third run. David Mitchell said: "I am delighted that Ludwig will be returning to solve more of Mark Brotherhood's brilliant mysteries. I can't wait to get started and have renewed the subscription on my denouement-learning app."
