Love Island star Lucie Donlan wasn't afraid to get her wedding dress soaking wet after tying the knot with her husband Luke Mabbott. The pair were seen racing into the ocean and sharing a kiss, despite Lucie being in her wedding gown.
Lucie shot to fame on Love Island in 2019, where she was coupled up with Tommy Fury, Joe Garratt and George Rains. She later found love with Luke, who entered the villa in 2020. The couple tied the knot in their home county of Cornwall on June 17 after being engaged for five years.
Instagram Video Shows Beach Dash
They took to Instagram on Saturday (July 25) with a video showing them holding hands as they marched into the sea, before sharing a kiss as the waves lapped around their feet. Lucie captioned the post: "You only get married once... run into the sea in your wedding dress and kiss your husband."
Lucie has been sharing snaps from her wedding celebrations, including her hen do by the sea. She wrote: "Had to post one more from my hen do because it was just that incredible. As a Cornish girl, this was honestly my dream hen do waking up on the water, being in the woods, eating pasty’s, cooking over the fire, dressing up as fairies, Cornish piskies, fishermen and mermaids. I literally love these ladies so much…They know me so well, and I just can’t stop reliving the whole weekend."
Small Wedding Plans
The pair, who got engaged in December 2021, walked down the aisle in a barn. Lucie had revealed that they had thought about eloping and preferred a smaller-scale wedding over a big fancy event. She told Daily Mail: "We said we may just jet off somewhere ourselves and get married so we're not decided on who would at our wedding just yet – it may only be just us two. We would prefer to have a much smaller wedding for sure. We're a family orientated couple. We would love our wedding to be just close family and friends."
