Love Island's Wil Anderson Has Premier League Brother

Love Island viewers are only just realising that a 2024 Islander has a very famous sibling. Series 11 bombshell Wil Anderson boasts one of the most triumphant romantic tales from the programme, having encountered his now-fiancée Uma Jammeh while on the show.

While he lacked his own celebrity credentials when he graced ITV screens, Wil's younger brother happens to be Premier League footballer Elliot Anderson. You might have clocked the 23-year-old representing the England national squad during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he assisted the team in reaching the semi-finals and securing the bronze medal.

Fans React to the Revelation

Wil has been candid about having a renowned brother, yet fans have only just cottoned on after witnessing Elliot in the international football competition, reports OK!. One ITV watcher posted their revelation on Reddit, penning: "Wil Anderson's brother is Elliot Anderson, who played for England in the World Cup? ? I was today years old when I found this out! Thought I'd share if anyone else was unaware!"

Others expressed equal astonishment, with one fan responding: "Had no idea! ! this is like when i learned that Jordan from s5 is Kobbie Mainoo's [halfbrother! ]." A third chimed in: "WHAT. How did I not know this?"

While another disclosed they were familiar with Elliot prior to Wil. "As a Footie guy I knew of his brother already following youth tournaments. Then hearing him being linked to Wil felt like a weird 2 worlds colliding," one viewer confessed.

Family Tragedy

Wil and Elliot's mum tragically died earlier this year. The former Islander revealed the devastating news to his followers in April, posting a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. Sharing a collection of photographs with his mother, Wil penned: "I LOVE YOU MUM. Words can't describe this feeling. You didn't deserve this. All I ever wanted was to make you proud."

He went on: "You were my biggest supporter and my strongest motivation. You gave everything for our family and we were just ready to return the favour. You fought the toughest fight of them all and not once did it show, bowing out with grace surrounded by your boys. You have shown me everything I know. Thank you for everything you have done for this family, none of us would have got this far without you. Keep watching me Mum I have more to show you. Everything is for you. You will live with me forever Mum, I love you."

Love Island airs Sundays to Fridays at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
