Georgia Steel, who has appeared on Love Island three times, has lifted the lid on the strict rules contestants must follow, from showering schedules to bedtime routines. The 26-year-old influencer featured in series four in 2018, Love Island Games in 2023, and the inaugural Love Island: All Stars in 2024.
Unseen Rules: Showers and Bedtime
Speaking on behalf of NetBet UK, Georgia revealed: 'You can't go to bed until doing your Beach Hut. I always remember that because sometimes the nights would be so long and all you'd want to do is go to bed but you'd have to wait to do your Beach Hut and then you can get into bed. You were also only allowed to shower once a day before getting ready for the evening.'
The Beach Hut, Love Island's confessional booth, requires each contestant to record a segment before sleeping. Sessions last 10 to 30 minutes, meaning islanders must stay awake in the garden until filming wraps in the early hours.
Smuggling Lip Liner and the Prada Bag Obsession
Georgia also shared a trick she used: 'Bags weren't a thing when I was in there. You have your mic and you have your little mic pack and I always remember putting my lip liner in my mic pack because sometimes they close off the villa and everyone has to stay in the garden. For instance, if you're involved in a recoupling ceremony it can drag on for ages, so I'd always smuggle my lip liner into my microphone pack.'
Meanwhile, current viewers are fixated on contestant Ellie Chadwick's Prada handbag, which she carries around the villa. ITV2 audiences have been distracted by the wicker basket bag that seems to follow her everywhere. Since 2022, eBay has been the show's official fashion partner, providing wardrobes, but islanders can also wear their own items.
Amy Bannerman, eBay's Pre-Loved Style Director, told The Sun: 'I wanted a way to add more eBay to the Islanders' non-swimwear looks and give us an opportunity to talk about eBay's Authenticity Guarantee offering... There isn't more of a focus on bags this season, but they have got more airtime from Ellie's iconic Prada moment, which is great.'
Georgia's Future TV Aspirations
Since leaving the villa, Georgia has appeared on Celebs on the Ranch, Celebs Go Dating, Celebrity Coach Trip, Ex on the Beach: Peak of Love, and Love Island Games. She now hopes to join a show where she can learn a skill, such as Bake Off, MasterChef, or Strictly Come Dancing.
She said: 'I went to performing arts school and my grandparents were ballroom dancers so that would be a nice family tradition and I never got to meet them so that would be so special.' Love Island airs Sunday to Thursday on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm.
