Gabriel Garland, the Love Island Casa Amor bombshell who was removed from the villa less than 24 hours after his arrival, has finally spoken out about the shocking experience. In an Instagram video, the 24-year-old model from Essex addressed the circumstances surrounding his abrupt departure, which stemmed from a connection to a stabbing incident in 2019.
Gabriel's Statement on the Incident
In the video, Gabriel acknowledged: "There was an incident that happened at a party I was at when I was a teenager. This incident is obviously one that should not be taken lightly and was very traumatic for everyone concerned." He clarified that he was not found guilty, stating: "I just wanted to make it clear, the legal judge found no wrongdoing against me and I don't have a criminal record."
Gabriel expressed his disappointment over leaving the show, adding: "This has resulted in me leaving Love Island, which is very disappointing. I was also forming a really strong connection in there which you guys didn't get to see, which is sad." He thanked supporters and said he aims to "move forward in a positive way."
ITV's Response and Editing
ITV had previously issued a brief statement: "Gabriel has now left the villa and will not be returning." His explosive entrance was aired, but subsequent footage was edited out of later episodes, leaving fans with barely a glimpse of his fleeting appearance.
Gabriel's Intentions in the Villa
Before entering the villa, Gabriel had confirmed he had his sights set on several girls, including Priya and Jasmine, whom he described as his 'typical types' in the outside world. However, his time was cut short before any relationships could develop on screen.
Fan Support
Fans and friends rallied around Gabriel after his post. One commented: "A Sweet and kind boy - stay strong Gabriel. Who knows you stand by your side. Wishing you the best, hope to see you soon x." Another wrote: "Proud of you GG hold your head high, you did nothing wrong."
Background on the Incident
The stabbing incident occurred at a party when Gabriel was a teenager. Although he was involved, the judge found no wrongdoing against him, and he does not have a criminal record. The incident was described as "very traumatic for everyone concerned" by Gabriel himself.
