Love Island star Kai Fagan has announced the death of his great-grandmother, who passed away just a week before her 100th birthday. The 25-year-old, who won the winter season of the ITV2 dating show with Sanam Harrinanan, shared a series of throwback photos on his Instagram Stories to pay tribute. Posting a picture of the order of service from the funeral held in Manchester, he wrote: 'Rest in peace great nana, A long loved life.'
Another snap showed Kai smiling alongside his great nana and another relative. The funeral took place just days after he and Sanam attended the National Television Awards, where they were seated apart from other Love Island contestants, sparking fan backlash. Despite the perceived snub, Kai expressed gratitude for being invited by tan brand Fake Bake, praising his girlfriend in a sweet post: 'NTAs with this absolute spice, honestly she gets me so gassed every time I see her.'
Sanam also shared her excitement, thanking fans for their support. The couple have remained strong since winning the show in March, with Kai recently giving Sanam a promise ring, hinting at an engagement to come. Fans have since urged him to propose, calling them one of the most genuine couples to emerge from Love Island.
