Love Island Winner's Blunt Verdict on Contestant in Danger of Eviction
Love Island Winner's Blunt Verdict on Contestant in Danger

Last year's Love Island champion has delivered a savage five-word assessment of one of this season's contestants. Audiences have been captivated by the recent drama as ITV's popular dating programme marks its 13th series. Latest instalments have witnessed the remaining Islanders participate in the steamy Heartbeat Challenge, which left several couples facing scrutiny.

The Debrief Panel Weighs In

After the most recent episode, Toni Laites, Shakira Kahn and Yasmin Pettet came together once more to dissect all the latest gossip in The Debrief. Known by supporters as the big three, they've transitioned from being stars of last year's series to presenting the main programme's accompanying video podcast. They discussed the outcomes of the recent challenge and its effect on the couples, including Samraj calling time on things with Priya to pursue Mica instead.

Topics also covered the possibility of another reconciliation between Aidan and Yasmin following their flirtatious exchanges during the recent task. However, one of the most significant discussion points from Wednesday's episode (June 24) was the outcome of the inaugural public vote, reports OK!.

Public Vote Results

Supporters tuning in from home had been invited to select their preferred boy and girl. This was revealed to be Ellie and Lorenzo. Meanwhile, the three boys and girls who garnered the lowest number of votes was also disclosed. This proved to be Aidan, Tommy and Simba alongside Tina, Priya and Lola. One lad and one lass from those bottom-ranked contestants will face the axe from the Island in scenes scheduled to air in a forthcoming episode. It was also disclosed through text that the choice will rest with Ellie and Lorenzo.

Toni's Blunt Observation

During The Debrief, Shakira confessed her shock at the rankings, exclaiming: 'Lola? What the hell?'. Discussing these outcomes, US contestant Toni, who claimed victory in last year's summer series, delivered some blunt observations about Lola. She declared: 'The thing is with Lola, yeah, she's with Sean, they're great, whatever. She doesn't make me laugh.'

Shakira came to her defence but offered insight into why she might have landed in this precarious spot: 'I think she is quite funny but I think because she's so secure in her couple, we're not seeing a lot of them at all. Like they just fade into the background. She's not really giving much. So who's going to invest their vote in her? So maybe she's in trouble for closing it off too early?'

Yasmin's Observation

Nevertheless, Yasmin observed: 'But then it was weird because if Lola was in the bottom three then I would expect Sean to be too.' Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX followed by Love Island The Debrief.
