Love Island's Lucie Donlan and Luke Mabbott wed in emotional Cornish ceremony
Love Island stars Lucie Donlan and Luke Mabbott marry in Cornwall

Love Island stars Lucie Donlan and Luke Mabbott celebrated their wedding on June 17 with “laughter, love and happy tears” at Nancarrow Farm in Cornwall. The couple, who met after Lucie messaged Luke on social media in 2020, became the fifth Love Island couple to marry, surrounded by 50 close friends and family.

Emotional Ceremony and Personal Touches

Lucie, 28, wore a flowing white gown and veil from Rue de Seine, embroidered with plants and birds. Luke, 31, was moved to tears seeing her walk down the aisle to “Dandelions” by Ruth B. Their rescue dog, Bunny, also walked down the aisle, adding to the emotion. “It’s not very often I’m lost for words or get emotional, but this was definitely one of the best moments of my life,” Luke said.

The ceremony included personal details: family members planted everlasting sweet peas, and their wedding bands featured three aquamarines representing Orion’s Belt, which they saw on their first night together. The date, June 17, marked the anniversary of their meeting.

Intimate Celebration Without Co-Stars

Despite their Love Island fame, no co-stars attended. “We’re quite private people, so keeping our wedding small and personal just felt right for us,” Lucie explained. The couple spent the night before together, reading vows in bed, and skipped a first dance in favor of a cider tower and cake cutting.

Speeches and Local Cuisine

Luke’s brother Liam gave a light-hearted best man speech, while Lucie’s father delivered an emotional tribute. “My dad’s speech was incredibly emotional. Hearing him speak after walking me down the aisle meant the world to me,” Lucie recalled. The wedding breakfast featured wood-fired scallops, Cornish crab cakes, and the venue’s famous roast dinners.

Mini Moon and Future Plans

The newlyweds enjoyed a “mini moon” at Carbis Bay Hotel and Estate in St Ives, where they had gone after getting engaged. Regarding parenthood, Lucie said, “We already call ourselves a little family with Bunny, so the thought of growing our family one day would be really lovely.”
