Love Island star's dad says son faced 'mental torture' over Mica rejection
Love Island star's dad: son faced 'mental torture'

The father of Love Island contestant Simba has revealed his son endured 'mental torture' following a rejection from Mica, but believes the experience taught him a valuable lesson. Speaking on the ITV spin-off show Love Island Aftersun, Simba's dad shared his views on his son's villa relationships.

Simba's Reaction to Rejection Analyzed

During the latest episode of Love Island Aftersun, host Maya Jama discussed Simba's invitation to Mica for a night in the hideaway and his surprising response when she declined. The panel, including Toni Laites, Tyrique Hyde and Shakira Khan, analyzed his behavior. Shakira claimed Simba handled it 'completely wrong', while Toni remarked: 'It's giving, never been rejected in their life.'

Maya then revealed that Simba's father and a friend were in the studio audience. When asked about Simba's reaction, his friend said: 'For me, it was a bit out of body because I've known Simba for 14 years, we've been out several nights and been rejected, been accepted - he's never reacted like that to be fair. It's quite tough when you've got cameras in front of you. Like you said it was an ego thing, he was quite embarrassed at the time. That's the first time I've ever seen him react like that.'

Father's Preference for Angelista

Maya then questioned Simba's dad about which girl he wants to see his son with. He responded: 'Angelista, no doubt about it. I think they're compatible and they've got a lot of things in common.' When asked about Simba's pursuit of Mica, he candidly answered: 'I think with Mica, it was just about lust. He knows he really messed up everything there but I know it was just about lust. But in terms of long lasting relationship, it's Angelista. The connection is already there (with Angelista) and he's apologised and I think he's already been accepted.'

He elaborated: 'I think what she wanted to give him a bit of mental torture, you done this to me, I'm going to do this to you. Now he's accepted, he's apologised and I've got no doubt, he's been accepted back. He's learned his lesson as well... I think he knows his boundaries now.'

Impact on Villa Dynamics

Simba's eagerness to spend an evening with Mica jeopardised his connection with Angelista, and his subsequent conduct put Mica off entirely. The incident has been a major talking point among islanders and viewers. Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX, with more drama expected as the series progresses.
