Former Love Island star Yasmin Pettet has revealed the heartbreaking loss of her beloved cat, Miaow Miaow, who sadly passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.
The reality TV personality took to social media to share the devastating news with her followers, posting an emotional tribute alongside a series of touching photos of her feline companion.
"My heart is broken," Yasmin wrote. "Miaow Miaow was more than just a pet - she was family. She fought so bravely against this horrible disease, but it was finally time for her to rest."
The 25-year-old influencer, who appeared on the hit ITV2 dating show in 2020, described how her cat had been diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. Despite veterinary treatment and round-the-clock care, Miaow Miaow's condition gradually deteriorated.
A Celebrity Pet's Legacy
Miaow Miaow had become something of a celebrity in her own right, frequently appearing on Yasmin's social media channels where she amassed her own fan following. Fans of the reality star have been flooding her comments with messages of support since the announcement.
Yasmin's post highlighted the special bond between pets and their owners, particularly during difficult times. "She was there through all my highs and lows," the star reflected. "Coming home from Love Island, she was my constant through all the madness."
The Pain of Losing a Pet
The emotional post has resonated with pet owners across the UK, many sharing their own experiences of pet loss in the comments. Veterinary experts estimate that approximately 1 in 4 cats will develop cancer at some stage in their lives, making Yasmin's story sadly familiar to many households.
Yasmin concluded her tribute with a promise to honour Miaow Miaow's memory, writing: "You'll always be my little shadow. Rest easy now, beautiful girl."
