One of the eliminated bombshells from this year's Love Island has delivered a scathing assessment of one of the programme's favourite couples. Chidi Ogandu, a 27-year-old civil engineer from Milton Keynes, claimed that Sean and Lola saying they love each other was 'crazy' given that they have not been tested.
Chidi's Brutal Assessment on The Debrief
During an appearance on the companion video podcast series Love Island The Debrief, Chidi was posed a question from the audience. Toni put forward the query: "Do you think Sean and Lola are as genuine as they come across? Will their heads be turned due to not having a test?"
Chidi gave a brutally frank response: "I like Sean but I feel like maybe Sean likes Lola a little bit more than she does." Co-host Shakira probed further by saying: "But apparently they love each other." While Toni chimed in: "Yeah they don't just like each other."
To which Chidi retorted: "Yeah, yeah, that's too early but they've not been tested yet so that's a bit crazy to say." Halle concurred it was premature for the pair to use the l-word but expressed her hope that they emerge and find success as a couple.
Chidi's Love Island Journey
ITV's smash-hit dating reality show is well underway with its 13th series. Initially, a dozen singletons entered the Spanish villa hoping to discover their ideal match and the opportunity to depart with a substantial cash reward. Drama has been in plentiful supply, featuring romantic entanglements and harsh eliminations. Throughout the process, several bombshell arrivals have occurred, which at one stage resulted in 20 Islanders residing in the villa simultaneously.
Prior to his villa entrance, Chidi boldly declared: "You could put me in a room with anyone, even Drake, and I'd still back myself. I never really see anyone as competition." Nevertheless, arriving for the sleepover challenge, he was permitted to select one Islander to share the evening with outside the main villa. He chose Mica, and regrettably for him, another bombshell selected Simba, with both unaware that the pair were simultaneously attempting to forge a closer bond.
Despite selecting Mica during the subsequent recoupling ceremony, they struggled to establish a meaningful connection and were identified as one of the most incompatible pairings. After a harsh vote conducted by the groups, Chidi was compelled to leave the Villa permanently, accompanied by fellow bombshell Halle.
