Love Island Star Simba Forgets Mic, Exposes Private Chat

Love Island star Simba has been caught out by producers after forgetting he was wearing a microphone during a private conversation with fellow islanders. The 13th series of the ITV reality dating show is currently airing, and viewers have been watching the fallout from Casa Amor, which has led to new romantic pairings and dramatic moments.

Simba's Unintentional Confession

During the latest episode of Love Island Unseen Bits, which aired on July 4, Simba was asked about his celebrity crush. He initially mentioned Stacey Slater from EastEnders, but a voiceover from narrator Iain Stirling questioned his answer. The show then cut to a clip where Simba joked with other male islanders, saying, "I'd do Peggy Mitchell." When Lorenzo asked, "The old lady?" Simba replied, "I love EastEnders bro!"

Realizing the Mistake

After the clip, Simba addressed the camera, saying, "OK, that was a private conversation. Ah, I keep forgetting I'm mic'd up, man. F***! I did say that though, I did say that." Fans reacted on social media, with one commenting, "Wait maybe Simba is just doing a long audition for EastEnders then?" Another wrote, "Simba is always talking nonsense I can't," while a third said, "I'm sorry, PEGGY MITCHELL? Simba is not real."

Other Unusual Crushes

Simba was not the only islander with unexpected celebrity crushes. Detective Lola admitted she likes the way Harry Maguire shouts at other players, despite the defender being left out of England's World Cup squad. Several islanders confessed to crushes on animated characters: Yasmin said, "Nemo is a good looking chap!" Julia revealed a secret infatuation with Lola from Shark Tale, and both Mara and Martha selected Shrek.

Upcoming Episodes

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX, with the highly anticipated Movie Night episode set to air on Sunday, July 5.
