Love Island 2026 contestant Ope Sowande has already enjoyed a successful career in musical theatre and television before entering the villa. The performer, known for his confident and laid-back personality, has appeared in several West End shows and TV programmes, including Strictly Come Dancing.
Sowande, who describes himself as confident in his looks and humour, has starred in musicals such as The Lion King, Hercules, Burlesque The Musical, Cake The Musical, and Moulin Rouge. He has also performed in Christmas pantos and danced in Carly Burns' music video for 'Sweetheart'.
His television credits include the live finals of The X Factor and a stint on Strictly Come Dancing. Despite his professional achievements, Sowande says he struggles to find a romantic connection, preferring shorter women with good hair, teeth, and a sense of humour, ideally from the North of England.
In his pre-show interview, Sowande stated: 'I'm so confident in my ability to just do my thing. I don’t get phased, I don’t get impersonated, I don’t get threatened.' He added that he values positive energy and avoids anyone with negative vibes.
