A former Love Island star has delivered a harsh verdict to one couple as she reckons their "time is up" on the ITV show.
The dating reality programme is heading into its final few days before the live finale next week. This means the remaining couples are now beginning to set their sights on the cash prize - though one pairing appears destined to fall short.
Aidan's behaviour in the villa
Over the past couple of episodes, viewers have watched Aidan Murphy, one of the handful of surviving original male contestants, sweep the board at the Grafties. He scooped up gongs mainly due to his flirtatious behaviour while in the villa, even involving one of the star's sisters.
This didn't sit well with Priya, who he's presently partnered with. This marks Aidan's seventh coupling in total, excluding occasions when he re-partnered with the same individual or Priya following spells with others.
What they insist began as mere friendship has blossomed into something deeper. Yet lately, Aidan has expressed reservations and his brother Kavan eventually admitted he doubted their longevity, reports OK!
Shakira's blunt verdict
Now, last year's runner-up Shakira Khan reckons it's time for the pair to throw in the towel. Speaking on Love Island The Debrief, she delivered a brutally frank assessment.
She posed the question to the panel: "What do you think is going to happen with Aidan and Priya now? I think it's blatantly obvious Aidan's not in it and she's far more into him. Where does this leave them with just a few days left?"
Former bombshell Elicia responded: "I feel like the crack has definitely cracked. I fell like with all the comments that they've been getting, I think they just need convincing of what they've both got."
Yasmin Pettet suggested: "It's really awkward because they were making a point of the fact that they're still in there and you're (Elicia) out but it's like well you guys are going to be on the next flight out the way that you're going."
Elicia speculated: "Yeah maybe they're thinking, oh we're not going to get away with it much longer. Maybe she (Priya) should have picked Ethan."
She acknowledged that she grasped why Priya would be hurt by recent remarks from Aidan, including his assertion that she would always 'pounce' on him when they were in bed.
Shakira then delivered her frank assessment and declared: "They just need to go home at this point. Time's up." Though she did express sympathy for Priya.
She went on: "I do feel really bad for her in the sense of how Aidan has led her on because he's had ample opportunity - and it's taken his brother to tell him, I don't think you two are compatible - for him to finally say something."
"And even now he's still leading her on. You don't like the girl. Let it drop."
