Love Island fans are convinced they have uncovered the real reason Ellie Chadwick has reportedly quit the ITV2 dating show, just days before the final. Viewers believe that a brutal comment made by her partner, Finley Maddock, during a game pushed her to leave.
Maya Jama's Game Sparks Drama
The ITV2 programme descended into mayhem when Maya Jama made her return to the villa on Wednesday (July 15). She quickly introduced a fiery game called 'If You Know, You Know,' which thrust everyone into the firing line. While sporting headphones and blindfolds, each couple was summoned to a podium where they received a card containing a brutal statement. They were challenged to anonymously select a couple or Islander that fitted the statement, and this inevitably ignited rows.
During their go, Kavan Murphy and Jasmine Muller were asked to pick a couple that best suits this statement: "One half of this couple is secretly bored but too polite to admit it." While Jasmine was stumped over who to select, Kavan immediately pointed to Ellie and Finley Maddock. It emerged that Finley had confessed to the lads that he was getting "a bit bored" in his romance with Ellie, according to reports.
Finley's Previous Efforts to Win Ellie Back
Just last night (July 14), Finley was desperately trying to win back Ellie's favour after he spent several days getting acquainted with bombshell Elicia Bailey. He insisted he had zero interest in Elicia and was entirely devoted to his coupling with Ellie. But this bombshell appears to indicate he was actually growing weary of his villa romance, and was seeking something new with Elicia.
Given recent reports that Ellie has ended her villa stint early, fans watching at home are certain Finley's remark pushed her to quit for good. Viewers had previously speculated that Ellie would depart following the upcoming dumping. There was a public vote earlier this week, which will leave several Islanders at risk in the next eviction. Fans suspected that Finley was booted from the villa, with Ellie following suit in solidarity. However, the latest episode has completely altered their thinking.
Fan Reactions on Social Media
After Finley's remark emerged, one X user forecast: "So is this how Ellie ends up leaving #loveislanduk." Someone else concurred: "Ahhh now I see why Ellie went home, I would have as well this boy has no respect #loveisland #loveislanduk." While a third added: "This why Ellie leaves if they guess it right or she feels Fin's talking behind her back #loveisland #loveislanduk."
Despite viewers' theories, though, Ellie didn't appear bothered by Finley during the episode. She stayed composed even after Finley was branded a "walking red flag" by their fellow contestants. ITV has yet to confirm the OG Islander's departure. Love Island continues on ITV2 and ITVX tomorrow night at 9pm.
