Love Island fans have expressed discomfort over Julia Majchrzak's recent behaviour in the villa, leading many to reconsider whether former Islander Lola Deal was right about the bombshell all along. During Tuesday's episode, Julia's feud with Priya Jaswal escalated after she encouraged Aidan Murphy to pursue bombshell Elicia Bailey, despite Aidan stating his head was with Priya.
Uncomfortable Scenes Unfold
In the episode, Priya and Lorenzo Alessi, Julia's partner, discussed Priya's feelings for Aidan. When Julia approached, Lorenzo asked for a few minutes alone. Priya felt Julia had a problem with her friendship with Lorenzo. Later, Julia pulled Aidan aside, telling him she believed he liked Elicia more than Priya and encouraging him to explore that connection.
During the following episode, Julia and Elicia made jokes about Priya and Aidan, calling their relationship "bulls***" and "the definition of c***blocking." Fans took to social media to share their discomfort. One viewer said: "The way they were talking about those two at the fire pit and their body language was making me really uncomfortable because it really did give mean popular girl. I don't understand why we need to put down other women just because Elicia isn't getting things to go her way."
Viewers Call Behaviour 'Toxic'
Another fan noted it was "weird to see Julia attacking her from one side and then Elicia attacking her from another side," while a third described the behaviour as "toxic," adding they were "laughing at all the insults" to "make each other feel better, instead of taking a step back." A fourth viewer said: "It was WILD to watch. They are REALLY comfortable saying actively hateful things about other women. Wild."
Some fans accused Julia of being the "ring leader of the hate train," particularly after they felt she "misrepresented" her conversation with Aidan to the other islanders.
Rethinking the Lola Feud
This turn of events has led many to question Julia's role in her earlier feud with Lola Deal. Original Islander Lola had taken issue with Julia pursuing Sean Fitzgerald during Casa Amor, despite Sean being closed off with Lola. At the time, it appeared Lola kept attacking Julia, leading the public to vote Julia and Lorenzo as their favourite couple.
However, after Lola and Sean self-evicted, they claimed they had squashed the disagreement multiple times and "hugged it out," only for Julia to keep bringing it up. One fan said: "Honestly, with the way Julia is still involved in drama that doesn't really concern her and the, in my opinion, vindictive way she went to Aidan about Priya after Priya's conversation with Lorenzo, I think maybe Lola was right."
Another added: "It does make me wonder if Julia really was constantly bringing up drama that had already been squashed to Lola and she was reacting (not saying she reacted well) to that."
Future of the Show
Despite the backlash, some fans still believe Julia can win the show, as she is coupled with fan favourite Lorenzo Alessi. With Ellie Chadwick set to leave the villa in upcoming episodes, many think viewers will rally behind Lorenzo, potentially voting him the winner regardless of his partner.
