Love Island fans confessed they muted the programme or even switched channels within minutes of the latest episode beginning. Viewers were left thoroughly unimpressed with the scenes that broadcast tonight (July 21). This came despite confirmation that The Grafties would return during the latest instalment.
Priya and Aidan's Date
Nevertheless, before that ceremony commenced, fans witnessed two Islanders enjoying their inaugural date. The morning following the previous recoupling ceremony which resulted in bombshell Ethan's departure, Priya and Aidan anticipated another day in the Villa. Aidan unexpectedly received a text message. It disclosed that the duo were being treated to their maiden date together. The message read: "Priya and Aidan, it's time for your first date. Please get ready to leave the Villa."
The Islanders were seen screaming and shouting celebrating what some viewers reckoned was merely the second date of the series excluding a bombshell introduction. Earlier in the series, Sean and Lola enjoyed a day paddle boarding. Priya and Aidan's chat swiftly shifted to everything that's occurred in the Villa and Aidan's previous romantic connections.
Fans Left Baffled and Unimpressed
Aidan confessed that while exploring a connection with Elicia, he consistently informed her that his heart remained with Priya. Priya questioned: "What were you telling her in bed though? That you wanted to kiss her the whole time she's been in here." He quipped: "If I had the opportunity I would kiss all the girls in the Villa, I think they're all beautiful." He later asked: "Are you falling in love with me?" To which she swiftly responded: "Not yet."
Though she questioned whether he would even request her number after the programme ended. Viewers tuning in from home were largely baffled though. They were left scratching their heads over how ITV producers decided that Aidan and Priya should be the pair sent on a date, and why there have been so few in total.
One questioned: "How come Priya and Aiden are randomly getting a date before all the other couples who've been in a couple for longer? Love them both but it's so random." Another expressed a similar sentiment: "OK good for Priya and Aidan but if I was one of the other long term couples I'd be like why did I not get a date? Let me out this damn villa."
A viewer wondered: "Is the first non-bombshell date besides Sean and Lola? What?" As someone else admitted: "Changing channel for 20 minutes. Someone let me know when the Grafties start." Similarly, one announced: "Time to mute." Those who persevered to watch the entire segment were far from impressed, as one commented: "That date was UNBEARABLE."
Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
