ITV Love Island viewers have united in their disappointment following the latest recoupling, which saw Scouser Robyn exit the show. The 21-year-old from Liverpool had quickly become a fan favorite thanks to her vibrant personality and grounded nature. However, during Wednesday's episode, she was forced to leave the Majorcan villa.
The hit reality series returned last week with a fresh lineup of contestants, all hoping to find love. From unexpected recouplings to surprising new arrivals, the season has already been packed with drama. On Wednesday, new boys Simba and Tommy entered the villa, triggering a recoupling. They each had to choose from the remaining girls to form couples.
Simba selected Angelista, while Tommy chose Ellie, leaving Robyn without a partner and resulting in her departure. Reflecting on her exit, Robyn described it as "definitely my time." She said: "It's bittersweet. I've made friends for life, but I'm genuinely happy. It was definitely my time." She added: "I doubt someone was going to come in for me, and there was no one in there at the minute, so I don't think it would have been fair for other people to leave. I had a ball, but I was ready to go home."
Robyn also shared insights from her experience: "It taught me lessons and made me stronger. You might think you'll go in there, have a ball, meet the love of your life on day one, and go on to have kids, but it sometimes doesn't work like that, unfortunately. You have to have a strong personality and be able to handle your feelings. But it was the most surreal experience."
Love Island viewers were quick to express their feelings on social media after Robyn's exit. Many were "gutted" and expressed hope that she would return for the Casa Amor twist later in the series. One fan wrote: "I've never been so gutted about the first person going home, what a character." Another agreed: "Gutted she's gone." A third commented: "I swear if she's not back in for Casa, she's the only breath of fresh air in there!" Others echoed the sentiment, with one saying: "The energy giver has gone, we are all so proud of you girly x." Another added: "I hope she comes back," while a sixth fan wrote: "Gutted she's gone, bring her back to Casa Amor!!! We want Robyn back in."
Since its launch in 2015, Love Island has become the UK's most-watched dating show, amassing over 2.5 billion streams on ITVX. Robyn, a quantity surveyor and DJ, was one of the many contestants seeking love in the 2026 series. She impressed viewers with her natural beauty—eschewing fake tan—and her loyalty to her female friends, making her a proud representative of Liverpool on screen.
Love Island airs at 9pm on ITV2.
