Lorraine Kelly has been seen making a surprise appearance as a volunteer at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow during her absence from the small screen.
The presenter is said to have taken on three roles as she joined the 4,000-plus volunteers, known as "legends", at the games: welcoming the workforce, meeting Team Scotland netball players before their training session, and later joining the spectator services team to greet the public and help fans find their way around the venue.

"There was no way I was missing the chance to get stuck in and be part of this," Lorraine, who hails from the Scottish city, said. "Spending the morning with the Glasgow 2026 workforce, Team Scotland athletes and spectator services volunteer team showed me just how much goes into making the Commonwealth Games run so smoothly and how ready and switched-on every single volunteer is."

ITV Show Break
Lorraine's chance to return home to Glasgow and be part of the major sporting event comes during a break from her self-titled ITV show. She signed off from the programme on July 3, telling those watching that she'll "really miss" everyone.
"That's all from us for now. I am away for a wee while," the 66-year-old said before adding: "I'll really miss you, but I will see you very, very soon."
It comes after it was previously confirmed that both Lorraine and Loose Women would only be airing for 30 weeks of the year due to ITV cost-saving measures. Prior to this, both programmes aired all 52 weeks of the year.

Meanwhile, the Commonwealth Games' volunteering initiative was supported by Allwyn UK, operator of the National Lottery and the games' official volunteer learning and development partner.
