Lorraine Kelly Reacts to Emmerdale Name-Drop

Lorraine Kelly took to social media to respond to an Emmerdale star's plea after she gushed over the ITV soap. The presenter, a self-confessed fan, was delighted when her daytime chat show was mentioned in a recent episode.

Emmerdale Drama Unfolds

Over recent episodes, Emmerdale has been packed with drama, unexpected newcomers, and secrets being exposed across the village. Actor Chris Coghill reprised his role as the difficult Kev Townsend, who first appeared last year.

Kev arrived as Robert Sugden's secret prison husband, claiming to be terminally ill and wanting to spend his final days with Robert outside prison. However, Robert was rekindling his relationship with ex-husband Aaron Dingle, leading Kev to leave the village after wielding a sword at them.

Before leaving, Kev dropped a bombshell on Nicola King and Liam Cavanagh: he is the biological father of Lewis Barton, following a one-night stand with Emma Barton.

Kev's Return and the Lemon Drizzle Cake

After months away, Kev returned when Ross Barton hunted him down, finding him selling his famous lemon drizzle cake from a van by the roadside. Ross pleaded with Kev to help rescue Lewis, who had been kidnapped by Kev's ex-partner, Kylie, as revenge.

Kev agreed and, despite warnings from Ross, decided to tell Lewis the truth. Breaking into a rendition of Boyzone's Father and Son, Kev revealed he was Lewis's father, leaving Lewis and Vinny shocked.

The Lorraine Mention

In the episodes leading up to Lewis's rescue, Liam, Kev, and Ross discussed visiting a pawn shop to return a diamond Kylie wanted. During their conversation, Liam mentioned he had heard about the shop's customer records on the ITV daytime chat show Lorraine.

Taking to Instagram, Lorraine shared the clip with her followers and gushed: "A name check for me on @emmerdale !! How utterly fabulous and hilarious - the look on their faces at the end!"

Ash Palmisciano, who plays Matty Barton, commented: "get yourself to the woolpack," to which Lorraine eagerly responded: "it has to happen !!!"
