Ruth Langsford opens up about Eamonn Holmes' 'terrible' health ordeal

Ruth Langsford has spoken candidly about the health struggles of her husband, Eamonn Holmes, describing the past few months as 'terrible'. The Loose Women panellist, 62, revealed to her co-stars that the GB News presenter has been battling chronic back pain, which led to a life-threatening operation.

In an emotional discussion on the show, Ruth explained that Eamonn's health issues did not end with the surgery. 'A few days after that he fell downstairs and broke his shoulder,' she said. 'So it's been a really difficult time, and I took some time off to be at home and look after him.'

Adding to the family's woes, Eamonn's mother passed away during his recovery. 'And then very sadly his mum passed away in the middle of all that,' Ruth continued. 'It's a lot of bad luck.' Her co-star Carol McGiffin offered support, saying, '2023 can't get any worse then, can it?'

Fans had grown concerned for Eamonn's health after Ruth posted a Christmas video featuring their dog Maggie but not her husband. Many took to social media to ask for updates. Eamonn has since confirmed he will return to GB News on 9 January.
