Singer Lizzo has revealed that despite losing around 60 pounds over the past two years, she still thinks of herself as 'big'. In an interview with Women's Health UK, the 37-year-old said she is now a 'smaller version' of her former self but still wears plus-size clothing and has 'the same rolls'.
The 'About Damn Time' star said she lost 16 per cent of her body fat and now describes her journey as 'weight release' rather than weight loss. She initially tried GLP-1 medication like Ozempic but decided it was not a long-term solution, insisting she wanted to achieve results through diet and exercise.
Lizzo also opened up about the emotional toll of public scrutiny, admitting she experienced 'dark thoughts' and would binge eat until her stomach hurt. She said she would hide her discomfort from others, but now feels proud of her progress and has built 'inner confidence'.
She cautioned against relying on others for validation, saying: 'I can convince myself that I’m beautiful, my body fine, no matter how big or small. But reminding myself that you can’t let others tell you who you are – that was hard work.'
