Lisa Riley has revealed she lost nearly a stone and a half during her time in the I'm A Celebrity jungle. The Emmerdale actress, 49, was the eighth campmate to leave the show on Friday evening in a double eviction alongside Jack Osbourne.
Speaking to the Mirror, Riley attributed the weight loss not to the camp's rice and beans diet alone, but to portion control and the demanding daily routine. 'It's portion control,' she said. 'When you're in there, people don't have an idea of the lifestyle, the geography of the camp. It's the do-ability, the activeness.' She explained that constant movement, from climbing steps to the Bush Telegraph to challenges, kept her active throughout the day.
As a vegetarian, Riley was provided with alternatives to the meat-based meals her campmates enjoyed. 'I had things like Quorn chicken strips, Quorn mince, tempeh, never again, and tofu,' she said. She noted that fellow campmate Martin Roberts improved her tofu preparation by pan-frying it, making it 'scrumptious'.
Reflecting on her experience, Riley described it as 'everything I wanted it to be and so much more'. She also addressed her comment that Ant McPartlin was 'juicy', laughing: 'Any red-blooded woman would say Ant is juicy, and he looks really well. But I'm in a very, very, very happy relationship.' She added that she is a flirt but remains secure with her long-term fiancé Al, whom she has been with for 12 years.
