Lisa Faulkner has publicly thanked her husband John Torode for his unwavering support following her recent breast cancer diagnosis. The 54-year-old TV chef shared an emotional Instagram post, describing Torode as her "best friend" and praising his care during her treatment.
Heartfelt Instagram Tribute
In the post, Faulkner wrote: "I don't know how I would have coped without this one. John Torode you make a wonderful nurse and best friend and I adore you. Thank you for holding me up." The accompanying photo showed the former MasterChef presenter relaxing outdoors.
Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment
Weeks earlier, Faulkner revealed she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. She underwent surgery, which she described as a "quite a big op," and doctors confirmed the cancer had been successfully removed. She is scheduled to begin radiotherapy soon.
Faulkner credited a routine mammogram with detecting the cancer early. "I'm so grateful I went for my mammogram," she said. "Don't put them off, go, because they found this and without that mammogram it wouldn't have been picked up." She also praised the NHS for enabling early diagnosis and treatment.
Outpouring of Support
Following her announcement, Faulkner received messages from fans and celebrities. Lisa Snowdon wrote, "Sending you so much love and wrapping you in the biggest hug darling Lisa." Dermot O'Leary added, "Sending big love xx," and Kate Lawler commented, "Oh darling. Sending you huge amounts of love and healing hugs. I’m so pleased you went for your mammogram x." Her daughter Billie Coghill called her "my absolute inspiration."
Personal and Professional Life
Faulkner and Torode married in 2019 after meeting on Celebrity MasterChef, which Faulkner won. They later co-hosted John & Lisa's Weekend Kitchen on ITV, becoming a popular presenting duo.
