Lisa Armstrong's Relationship with Actor Grant Kilburn Comes to an End
Lisa Armstrong, the former wife of television presenter Ant McPartlin, has reportedly ended her romantic involvement with actor Grant Kilburn. The couple, who were introduced through mutual friends in the entertainment industry, have decided to go their separate ways after a brief period together.
Quiet Separation After Initial Happiness
The 49-year-old Strictly Come Dancing make-up artist and the 34-year-old actor are said to have quietly called time on their relationship last month. This development comes despite recent reports suggesting Armstrong was "happier than ever" with Kilburn, who had been touring in the theatrical production 2:22 A Ghost Story.
A source close to the situation revealed: "It's very sad but it wasn't to be." Friends indicate that the pair simply decided their relationship wasn't working out, leading to their amicable separation.
How They Met Through Strictly Connections
The couple's introduction came through Armstrong's close connections within the Strictly Come Dancing community. She is believed to have been introduced to Kilburn by her friends, former Strictly professional dancer Kevin Clifton and his partner, documentary maker Stacey Dooley.
Clifton and Dooley had been touring alongside Kilburn in the same theatrical production. Armstrong and Kilburn reportedly first met in October of last year when the play was performed at the Theatre Royal in Brighton.
At the time of their initial meeting, a source commented: "She's taking it slow, she doesn't want to get hurt again – but she's being treated like a princess and her new man cannot do enough for her."
Armstrong's Relationship History Since Divorce
This latest split follows Armstrong's high-profile divorce from Ant McPartlin, which was finalised in January 2018. Their separation occurred just two months before McPartlin was involved in a serious car accident while driving at more than twice the legal alcohol limit.
Following the crash, McPartlin admitted to drink-driving offences, received an £86,000 fine and a 20-month driving ban. He subsequently entered rehabilitation and took a ten-month break from his television presenting duties.
McPartlin has since moved on, marrying his former personal assistant Anne-Marie Corbett in 2021. The couple welcomed their first child together, son Wilder Patrick McPartlin, last year.
Despite their divorce, Armstrong and McPartlin continue to share custody of their beloved 12-year-old chocolate Labrador, Hurley, who remains a regular feature on Armstrong's Instagram account.
Following her divorce, Armstrong dated Sky electrician James Green beginning in 2020, but that relationship ended unexpectedly in August 2023. Friends described that separation as amicable, with both parties intending to remain friends.
Professional Success and Property Investments
Alongside her personal life developments, Armstrong has maintained a successful career as head make-up artist on the popular BBC programme Strictly Come Dancing. She has also built an impressive property portfolio following her divorce settlement.
Armstrong was reported to have received approximately £31 million as part of her divorce settlement from McPartlin. She has since made several strategic property investments:
- Retaining the former family home – a £2.3 million five-bedroom mansion in west London
- Purchasing a £3.8 million property in west London in 2020
- Acquiring a four-bedroom house near Oxford in 2024 for over £700,000
As Armstrong navigates this latest personal chapter, she continues to balance her high-profile television career with her property investments and life as a single woman following her divorce from one of Britain's most recognised television personalities.
