The highly anticipated DJ set by the England women's football team, the Lionesses, at Latitude Festival was cut short due to safety concerns, leaving fans disappointed.
Organisers were forced to halt the performance midway through as the packed crowd in the BBC Sounds tent became too large, raising fears of potential crushing incidents.
The Lionesses - including stars like Chloe Kelly, Leah Williamson and Alessia Russo - had taken to the decks as part of the festival's line-up in Henham Park, Suffolk.
Safety First Approach
Festival security made the difficult decision to stop the show when it became clear the tent couldn't safely accommodate the huge number of fans who turned up to see their football heroes.
An eyewitness told The Mirror: "The tent was absolutely rammed. You could barely move. Security were getting really concerned about crowd safety."
Disappointed Fans
Many festival-goers expressed their frustration on social media, with one tweeting: "Waited ages to see the Lionesses and then it gets stopped after 20 minutes. So gutted!"
Another added: "The organisers should have known how popular this would be and put them on a bigger stage."
Festival Response
Latitude Festival organisers released a statement saying: "The safety of our attendees is always our top priority. We had to make the difficult decision to end the Lionesses' set early due to the unexpectedly large crowd."
The Lionesses themselves took the interruption in good spirits, with several players posting selfies from backstage after the premature end to their set.
