Prime Video has announced a new documentary offering an 'intimate' look at Lily Allen's life, described as 'raw and redefining.' The news comes one month after her ex-husband David Harbour finally addressed her controversial and highly successful West End Girl album.
Lily Allen and David Harbour started dating in 2019 and married the following year at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. However, five years after getting married, the pair separated, and Allen released her bombshell album West End Girl, which 'exposed' their flawed marriage. She claimed Harbour was having affairs with women at their West Village apartment in her newly released songs and shared they had an open marriage agreement.
Harbour Breaks Silence
Breaking his silence on the West End Girl 'phenomenon,' Harbour told Variety last month: 'It was weird. I do believe that it is the privilege of every artist to use their experience to create art, and so I respect her for doing that.'
'I can’t really say that much more because it’s my private life. In spite of the fact that a lot of people don’t allow me a private life – I value it. And I also value the lives of the people that I interact with privately. I just won’t speak about that.' He added: 'Stories are complex and that’s why I say I respect her creation of art to channel her experience. It wasn’t my experience.'
Documentary Details
Soon, fans will be able to get an even deeper insight into Lily Allen's life behind the cameras as Prime Video has announced a 'raw' documentary is on the way. Featuring interviews with some of the star's inner circle, the film will be a 'story of resilience, reinvention' as Allen reclaims 'her narrative on her own terms.'
The synopsis teases: 'This is Lily Allen as she's never been seen before. Raw, real, and redefining what it means to thrive in the spotlight.' As of yet, a release date hasn't been confirmed but it is expected to come out sometime next year. The Lily Allen documentary will be released in 2027 on Prime Video.
