Gene Gallagher, son of Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, is set to embark on his first UK headline tour with his band Villanelle. The eight-date tour kicks off in Glasgow on November 19 and includes a homecoming show at Manchester's Night & Day on November 22.
Villanelle recently opened for Liam Gallagher during his Definitely Maybe 30 Years tour at Manchester's Co-op Live, earning praise from the Manchester Evening News, which described them as 'quite the polished ensemble'. The band also supported Seb Lowe at Manchester's O2 Ritz in April and has opened for Overpass and Pastel.
Alongside Gene on lead vocals and guitar, the band comprises guitarist Ben Taylor, bassist Jack Schiavo, and drummer Andrew Richmond. Liam Gallagher previously described Villanelle's sound as 'in your face, Arctic Monkeys style' during an appearance on the Humans Of XS Manchester podcast.
Tickets for the tour go on sale at 9am on Friday, June 21, via Ticketmaster. The tour will also visit Newcastle, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, and conclude at the Oslo venue in London on November 28.
