Liam Gallagher has hit back at former Coronation Street star Charlie Lawson after the actor branded Oasis "distinctly average" on social media. The 54-year-old singer responded with an expletive outburst after Lawson shared his thoughts on the band's comeback following their latest sell-out tour.

Charlie Lawson, 67, best known for playing Jim McDonald on the Weatherfield cobbles, responded to a post asking: "Alright, no sitting on the fence. Do you think Oasis are overhyped... or are they genuinely one of the best bands the world has ever seen?"
The Northern Irish actor laid his cards on the table, branding the band "distinctly average". But the post was soon brought to Liam's attention, prompting him to hit back: "Like your f***ing acting skills."

The response set off a storm with followers loving the confrontation. One user commented: "The beef I never thought I'd see in my lifetime Jim McDonald and Liam Gallagher my life is now complete, so it is."
Liam seemingly admitted he was growing tired of arguing online after a follower quote posted his response along with a crying with laughter emoji face. The Mancunian musician said he was "wiped out defending Oasis n City," regarding his beloved Manchester City who have been found guilty of all financial breaches they faced from the Premier League.
Not backing down though, Charlie posted a clip of David Byrne from Talking Heads, calling them his "favourite band in the 80s and 90s."
Tour sell-out
It was thought 11 million people signed up for codes for next year's Oasis concerts. The band went on to sell out all 42 dates for their upcoming Live '27 tour, meaning more than two million tickets were sold.
On Sunday night, once all tickets sold out, Liam took to X to break the hearts of those who missed out. "That's all folks. We have officially sold out, no more tickets left," he wrote. And in a cheeky end to his post, he added: "Congratulations to everyone who got a ticket and to the people who didn't sneak in f**k it."
Next year, the mega-band will play five shows in Scotland, before they head to their beloved Manchester City's Etihad Stadium for a mammoth 11 nights. They also smashed records with a staggering six nights at Knebworth House, beating the record of three consecutive nights, previously held by Robbie Williams.
