Liam Gallagher shuts down Glastonbury 2027 Oasis rumours

Liam Gallagher has addressed discussions over how likely it is Oasis will be playing at Glastonbury Festival 2027. The festival didn't run this year as organisers set a fallow year, but it will return next June.

Blunt response on X

With fan accounts discussing the possibility of Oasis headlining at Worthy Farm next year, Liam took to X to swiftly respond and put an end to the speculation. The account Oasis Mania (@oasismania) wrote on X this morning: "According to The Scotsman, Oasis are among the favourites to headline Glastonbury 2027, with odds of 4/1."

"Could we see them return to the Pyramid Stage?" At 12.15pm Liam responded saying: "It's not HAPPENING so all you croc wearing flag waving s*** c**** can calm the f*** down".

The response has since amassed over 18,000 likes with users quick to comment on the rude message. One joked: "Liam's subtle way of saying, 'maybe'."

Oasis Glastonbury history

Oasis have played the Glastonbury Festival three times during their career - in 1994, and as headliners on the Pyramid Stage in 1995 and 2004.

The speculation around Oasis' return to Worthy Farm comes after the band embarked on a massive reunion tour, the Oasis Live '25 Tour, which ran from July 4, 2025, to November 23, 2025.

The 53-year-old and his big brother Noel Gallagher, 59, shocked fans by hitting the road again 16 years after the band broke up as a result of a bitter fall out.

Etihad residency and documentary

The Manchester Evening News broke the news last month that the band are eyeing a mammoth residency at Manchester's Etihad Stadium in June 2027. Fans are now poised for an announcement from the band - with the idea of a 2027 tour likely having planted a seed for speculation over a Glastonbury set.

A world premiere of the new documentary film about the band's 2025 tour, Don't Look Back in Anger, will be held at the Venice Film Festival next month, the Manchester Evening News reported. It has now been confirmed that the world premiere will take place on Saturday, September 5 at 9.30pm.

The band will then return to the UK for the London premiere of the film on Monday, September 7, before it goes on general cinema release across the UK on September 9.
