Lewis Capaldi had an epic reaction to a couple getting engaged during his London concert on Thursday evening. The 28-year-old singer, currently touring the UK after a two-year hiatus, was performing at the O2 Arena when a man proposed to his girlfriend in the crowd.
As the crowd erupted in cheers, Capaldi, who was singing his 2023 hit 'Pointless', appeared nonplussed before exclaiming: 'Someone proposed or something? Congratulations, I f*****g s**t myself! Wow, congratulations.' He then jokingly suggested the couple were 'paid actors', adding: 'No, I'm only joking.'
The heartwarming moment was captured on TikTok, with fans sharing their admiration. One concert-goer commented: 'I was there tonight! It was awesome,' while another admitted: 'I was there, I was the girl who cried.'
During the show, Capaldi also introduced his new song 'Something In The Heavens', released on Thursday. He said: 'I released a new song this evening... I've been teasing it gently over the last however many weeks and it's been a nice response.'
Capaldi stepped away from the limelight in 2023 after a breakdown at Glastonbury, citing struggles with Tourette syndrome and anxiety. He has since overhauled his mental health, reducing alcohol intake, improving physical health, and having weekly therapy. His comeback track 'Survive' reached number one on the singles chart in June.
