Lewis Capaldi's Jacket Potato Order Revealed During Cardiff Blackweir Live
Lewis Capaldi's Jacket Potato Order at Blackweir Live

Lewis Capaldi performed to more than 80,000 fans across two nights at Blackweir Fields in Cardiff on June 30 and July 1, 2026, as part of his Blackweir Live double header. The Scottish star delivered an 18-song setlist that included all six of his number one hits and a viral cover of Britney Spears' 'Everytime'. The concerts were sell-out events, keeping Cardiff's summer concert season in full swing, while Katy Perry performed simultaneously at Bute Park within Cardiff Castle grounds.

Capaldi's Food Choice Revealed

During his second show on July 1, Capaldi gave a shout-out to The Spud Fam, a food vendor at the event, though he initially referred to them as Spud Man. He said: "I'm glad I'm here [in Cardiff] because today I had an excellent jacket potato for lunch from Spud Man at the back. No, not Spud Man, Spud Fam. Listen - it was delicious anyway, so if you're on your way out and they're still open, buy yourself a spud. No matter how hard life gets, we always have jacket potatoes is what I am trying to say."

What He Ordered

The Spud Fam is usually based at Aberafan Shopping Centre in Port Talbot and served items like dirty fries, breakfast baps, and loaded jacket potatoes at Blackweir Fields. According to a Facebook post by co-owner Jordanna Landeg, Capaldi ordered a jacket potato with cheese, beans, and tuna. This combination provides complex carbohydrates for energy, protein for muscle recovery, and fibre for satiety, ideal for a pre-performance meal.

Behind the Scenes

In a TikTok video, The Spud Fam explained that Capaldi's personal assistant approached them during a busy queue, asking if the singer could skip the line to get a spud before going on stage. They initially doubted it was genuine but complied. The Spud Fam offered the meal for free, but Capaldi insisted on paying with his card. They described the moment as "surreal."
