Police in Croatia are appealing for information to identify a woman in her 60s who was found sitting on rocks on the island of Krk, speaking perfect English. The Primorje-Gorski Kotar police department released an image of the woman, who had cuts to her face and was crying when discovered on 12 September.
The woman, described as around 5ft 4in with shoulder-length blonde hair and blue eyes, was wearing a striped navy blue T-shirt, black trousers, trainers, and a pink linen cap. Local media reported she was found in an inaccessible part of the bay with sharp rocks, raising questions about how she arrived there.
A local resident told The Evening Standard: “It’s weird that she was looking in the area at all. It is an extremely inaccessible part of the bay with terribly sharp rocks, literally razors that cut the rubber on your shoes. A woman that age certainly could not swim that distance, it needs exceptional strength.”
Police are urging anyone with information to contact them via email at primorsko-goranska@policija.hr or by phone. The woman received medical assistance after being found on the northern Adriatic island.
