Lee Andrews has been released from Al Awir prison in Dubai for the second time in a matter of months and has vowed to 'whistleblow' about his experience inside the facility. The self-proclaimed millionaire and "Britain's bad boy" was freed after an alleged charge of fraud.
Second Release and Vow to Speak Out
In a video shared on social media, Andrews said: "Right, I haven't made a public appearance yet. They got me. They got me good." He confirmed that he had to shave his hair during his time in prison, adding: "I'm freshly out of jail, a.k.a. the most notorious prison in Dubai, Al Awir. God, don't go against the system, guys, because they will bury you."
Andrews explained that he could not speak fully from Dubai: "I'm out of jail now, just need to get out of the country. I can't whistle-blow from here, but I will be doing eventually. At least say something about the terrible ordeal that I was in. And in order to get to the person that I needed to get out, I needed to shave my head to get past, so yeah. Sporting it again, it'll grow back. No, I don't have a wig or a system, it's just me – not too bad though, it's all good, it'll do for now."
Background and Legal Troubles
The British expat first went to prison in May this year, after telling his estranged wife, Katie Price, that he had been "kidnapped" with his hands tied up. He had been trying to pay off a £120,000 fine, but later required a substantial cash sum for release.
Andrews has strongly denied being a criminal, telling Good Morning Britain via voicenote that he was in a "civil jail" and had not "been convicted of any crimes, nor am I a criminal". He also shared a photo of his shaved head with his father in a sauna after his release.
Financial Disputes and Cameo Return
While Andrews needed several thousand pounds for release, his estranged wife previously said she had not given him any money, refusing to pay the £140,000 required. Katie had decided to end their marriage after Andrews lied about the funds in his cryptocurrency wallet, which he had claimed contained millions but was later revealed to be £2.22, a figure he says was inaccurate.
Andrews has returned to Cameo, selling personalised videos for £40.73, or £739.89 for business customers. His biography on the platform reads: "For shirtless kindly choose the express delivery option as this is a premium offer, recognized featured public figure, news articles, media tv, podcast, radio reality tv as well as social media [sic]."
