Leah Charles-King Heartbroken Over Co-Star's Wildfire Death

Leah Charles-King, presenter of Channel 4's A Place in the Sun, has expressed her heartbreak after co-star Annette Kilgore tragically died in the devastating Spanish wildfires. The 69-year-old from Cornwall appeared on the show in 2022 with her husband, Malcolm Timbrell, to find their retirement home in Spain. Annette is survived by Malcolm.

Emotional Tribute on Social Media

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Charles-King shared a heartfelt message: "Life is short. Chase the dream. Take the chance. Build the life that makes you happy. For me, A Place in the Sun has never just been about property. It's about helping people take a chance on the life they've always wanted."

She continued: "In 2022, I had the privilege of helping Annette and Malcolm find the retirement home of their dreams in the mountains of Bedar, Spain. It was a joy to watch them begin a new chapter together, and from everything I knew, they built a wonderful life there and became part of the local community."

Leah's Heartfelt Condolences

Charles-King added: "I'm heartbroken that Annette lost her life in the devastating wildfires. My deepest condolences go to Malcolm, Annette's family and friends, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy. None of us knows what tomorrow will bring. If there's a life you've been dreaming about, don't wait for the perfect time to start living it. Rest in peace, Annette."

Jasmine Harman Also Mourns

Her tribute follows similar sentiments from fellow A Place in the Sun presenter Jasmine Harman, who posted earlier this week: "Some awful news. You may have seen on the news that Spain has been experiencing some terrible wildfires, and I was so sad to hear of the tragic deaths of several people in Bédar."

Harman wrote: "Sending deepest condolences to those who have lost loved ones. Especially to Malcom who previously appeared with his wife Annette on A Place in the Sun. I don't really have the words to say how very sorry I am for your loss Malcom. I know we have never met, I can't imagine what you are going through right now. Sending thoughts and prayers."

Wildfires Devastate Spain

The wildfires have caused multiple casualties and widespread destruction in the Bédar region of Spain. The deaths have prompted an outpouring of grief from the show's community, with both presenters urging fans to cherish life and pursue their dreams.
