Sports presenter Laura Woods has described the moment she accidentally kissed darts star Steve Beaton, calling it an embarrassing blunder. The 38-year-old was interviewing the former BDO world champion, known as the 'Bronzed Adonis', for Sky Sports when the mishap occurred.
Woods explained on the Happy Hour podcast that she intended to shake Beaton's hand after the interview, but the 61-year-old moved in for a hug, resulting in an unplanned kiss on the lips. 'I went to shake his hand, he went for a cuddle... he turned and we kissed on the lips,' she said.
She recalled feeling mortified, telling the production team: 'I just kissed the Bronzed Adonis on the mouth and I felt his beard.' Woods said she initially felt she had committed a terrible act but now looks back on it with amusement.
Woods left Sky Sports in 2022 and joined TNT Sports a year later to present boxing and Champions League football. In her personal life, she recently welcomed a son, Leo, with fiancé Adam Collard, having previously suffered a miscarriage at 11 weeks.
