Laura Hamilton has praised Holly Willoughby's return to screens via YouTube, calling the move 'great'. Hamilton, best known for presenting A Place In The Sun, worked with Willoughby over two decades ago on ITV's Ministry of Mayhem, where she was an assistant floor manager.
Holly's YouTube Show
Holly Willoughby recently launched her YouTube show, Together, her first major project since leaving This Morning in 2023. Despite featuring Hollywood star Stanley Tucci, the show has attracted just 35,000 viewers in a day.
Laura's Support
Speaking to the Mirror, Hamilton said: 'I think it's great for Holly as well.' She added: 'I used to work on Ministry of Mayhem as an assistant floor manager, with Holly, and obviously I also did Dancing On Ice, and Holly was on Dancing On Ice. It's great, there are loads of people that are, you know, keeping on their toes and—and moving with the times, and it's—it's, you know, brilliant to—to see.'
Behind the Camera Roots
Hamilton's former career behind the camera still resonates. She explained that during her time on Dancing On Ice, many friends who were behind the scenes were former colleagues, which helped ease her nerves. She still sees many floor managers at events and they reminisce about working together.
Laura's Own YouTube Channel
Hamilton is also active on YouTube, sharing tips on buying, selling, renovating, and investing in property in the UK and abroad. She noted the changing landscape: 'None of those things existed when I started in telly when I was 18. And in a way, I like it, because it kind of keeps you on your toes.'
Filming and Property Ventures
Most recently, she filmed in Dubai for her YouTube channel, documenting changes in the housing market amid the Middle East conflict. She is currently filming A Place In The Sun in the South of France. Speaking about the show, she said every location and house hunter brings a different story. She added that nine times out of ten, house hunters do buy a property.
Mallorca Home and New Brand
Hamilton purchased a home in Mallorca and faced bureaucracy with permits for renovations. She is launching Laura Hamilton Home, an interiors brand with The Woodland Collection and The Mediterranean Collection, described as 'illustrative of my home in the UK' and inspired by her Mediterranean experiences. She credited a designer and her team for the range.
