A Place In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has shared an emotional message with fans after witnessing a young man die while she was filming this week. The 44-year-old revealed she decided to take a stroll along the beach after filming wrapped for the day, only to be met with "a lot of commotion".
She then recalled witnessing medics trying to resuscitate an individual, who she's since learned was a 19-year-old boy. Despite medics' efforts to save him, the young man sadly died.
Laura's emotional plea
Taking to Instagram on Friday morning, Laura said she'd barely slept due to "mind racing" and she kept replaying what she had seen. "I can't begin to imagine what that poor boy's family are thinking and feeling this morning," she added. The property expert went on to urge holidaymakers to be "really mindful" and "careful" around sea currents.
"If you're letting your children go into the sea, even as a grown up going into the sea, just be careful," she warned. "But it was a kind of crazy thing to sort of see and witness and it just reminds us all that life is short," she added.
Support from followers
Many of Laura's followers offered their support in the comments and shared their condolences for the boy's family. One commented: "How sad and awful to witness, thoughts are with his family. You're right hold those we love close." A second wrote: "Very tragic and sad for the family."
A third typed: "That's awful Laura, my heart goes out to the family." "100% You never know what's round the corner and these kinds of things reminds us all how precious life is. Take care," a fourth added.
