Laura Hamilton, a presenter on Channel 4's A Place In The Sun, has spoken of her heartbreak after witnessing a 19-year-old boy die on a beach in Cyprus.
Hamilton describes the incident
The 44-year-old mother-of-two said she got about three hours of sleep after the ordeal. She explained in an Instagram video that she had wrapped up filming when it occurred.
"I headed to the beach and when I arrived there was a lot of commotion, didn't really know what was going on. It turns out, there was a fatality, and it was, kind of a crazy thing to see," she said.
Hamilton went on: "I thought the individual was older than they were, and it actually turned out it was a 19-year-old boy. They tried to resuscitate him, but they couldn't, and sadly he passed away."
Warning for beachgoers
The Channel 4 host urged families to be mindful of currents when entering the sea. "Just be really, really mindful when you're in the sea of currents," she begged. "If you're letting your children, even as a grown-up, if you're going into the sea, just be careful."
She added: "Life is short. You don't know what's around the corner, so make sure you appreciate the people in your life because nobody knows what tomorrow holds."

My thoughts are with his family and friends, whose lives have been changed forever. It's a heartbreaking reminder of just how precious and fragile life is. Please cherish the people you love, never take time together for granted, and if you're heading to the coast, be careful in the sea. Take care of yourselves and each other."
Jasmine Harman pays tribute
The tragedy follows another A Place In The Sun presenter, Jasmine Harman, paying tribute to a show guest presumed dead in Spanish wildfires. Annette Kilgore, who appeared on the property show with husband Malcolm Timbrell in 2023, is feared dead in a blaze near the Sierra de Los Filabres mountains.
Timbrell said he thinks his wife was killed after they became separated as flames surged towards the home they found on TV in the village of Bédar. Harman shared her "deepest condolences" on Instagram, saying she "couldn't imagine" what he was going through.
