TV presenter Laura Hamilton has dismissed online critics who said she was 'too old to wear a bikini', pointing to older celebrities like Davina McCall and Amanda Holden as examples of women who dress as they please.

The 43-year-old A Place in the Sun host shared holiday snaps from Sardinia's Forte Village resort on Instagram, prompting a follower to comment that she was too old for a bikini. In response, she posted a defiant message and more bikini photos.

'I recently read a comment saying I was too old to wear a bikini. It honestly made me stop and think for a second. But then I reminded myself, life's way too short to worry about what other people think,' she wrote.

Hamilton highlighted peers such as Davina McCall, 57, and Amanda Holden, 54, saying: 'There are so many incredible women that I see who are my age and older and are absolutely rocking it.' She urged followers to 'live your life and feel good in your own skin.'

Supporters responded with enthusiasm, with one commenting: 'Bikinis don't come with age restrictions – just confidence requirements! The only age limit is the age you stop caring what other people think – 49 and still here in my bikinis.' Another said: 'I still wear them and I'm 54 and I don't care what people think!'

Hamilton also revealed frustration with some 'crazy' house hunters on her show, telling Woman Magazine: 'I have shown people houses and thought, "You're not going to buy this? You're crazy!"' She added that while exasperated, 'you have to respect people's choices.'
