La Voix rules out 2026 Strictly return after injury

Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant La Voix has ruled out a return to the BBC ballroom competition in 2026, citing her previous injury and the exhausting experience of training with pro dancer Aljaz Skorjanec.

La Voix's decision not to return

Appearing on ITV's Good Morning Britain, the RuPaul's Drag Race star was asked by host Ed Balls why she couldn't have a second go. She replied: "No, do you know what? I can't..." Joking, she added: "I cannot spend any more time with Aljaz trying to learn the cha cha cha. It was exhausting trying to get him to keep up with me. It really was."

La Voix was a contestant on the last series of Strictly, partnered with Aljaz Skorjanec, but had to pull out early after injuring her foot. Unlike Dani Dyer, who also exited the 2025 competition due to injury and will return this year, La Voix has decided not to follow suit. "I did my time," she said. "We tried."

Disappointment over presenting role

The star also confessed her disappointment at not being asked to replace departing hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly. The duo announced last year they would leave after the 2025 series, and Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe have been confirmed as new presenters.

La Voix told Ed Balls and co-host Kate Garraway: "I would have loved... I made it no subtlety that I wanted to be a, a presenting role on Strictly. Of course I would have loved it. Did I get the call? No. Am I gutted? Absolutely." She added: "I wish them all the best of luck on that show. I didn't get the call, but I'd like to, of course."

Confirmed stars for upcoming series

So far, four stars have been confirmed for the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing: celebrity hair stylist Chris Appleton, EastEnders actress Lacey Turner, singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem, and former Love Islander Dani Dyer.

Good Morning Britain airs at 6am on ITV, and Strictly Come Dancing is available on BBC iPlayer.
