Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has confirmed she will remain on the ITV soap for another year, quashing rumours of an imminent departure. The 41-year-old actress, who plays Michelle Connor, told OK! magazine that she is delighted to continue working on the iconic Manchester street.
Marsh, who joined the soap 12 years ago, has been at the centre of numerous hard-hitting storylines, including the stillbirth of her character's baby and the revelation that her son Ryan was not biologically related. Recent plots have seen Michelle reconnect with her biological son Ali and sever ties with best friend Carla.
Upcoming episodes will feature Michelle's wedding to Robert Preston, though spoilers suggest the ceremony will be disrupted by Pat Phelan firing a gun in post-watershed scenes. Marsh also spoke candidly about her own battles with anxiety and panic attacks, describing how she now manages her symptoms.
